No terceiro periodo o ritmo do Rangers caiu, Lundqvist voltou a ser o destaque do time com suas defesas precisas, acabou por levar um gol de Dalpe, mas a vitória foi garantida com Boyle no ultimo segundo com um gol em empyt net, placar final: Rangers 4-1 Hurricanes
Não foi um jogo brilhante, bonito e nem jogado na raça. Foi uma vitória de um bom segundo periodo, da capacitade de aproveitar-se do momento e ser decisivo, destaque para Nash com um gol e uma assistencia. Faltou permanecer mais na zona ofensiva, isso atraiu o Hurricanes mais para próximo do gol e foi um dos motivos para que Lundqvist fosse o melhor jogador da noite. Contra um time mais frágil como o Hurricanes é passável, mas quando o time enfrentar os times mais fortes não deve ficar nesse jogo meia boca, deve afastar o máximo o adversário da zona defensiva e cansar o máximo possível o goleiro adversário.
O próximo jogo é contra o Maple Leafs, no MSG, segunda as 21h.
